Our Vision
Players are the heartbeat of clubs. At Dorset Dinkers Pickleball Club, we believe in the power of pickleball to bring people together. Whether you’re looking to play for fun, improve your skills, or connect with others in your area, we’re committed to creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels included. By offering a variety of play sessions and social events, we aim to enhance the overall pickleball experience and build a vibrant, supportive community.
Our club values
We welcome players of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Our club is a space where you can make new friends, share tips, and celebrate the joy of pickleball together.
We are a community. We value teamwork, encouragement, and the friendships built through pickleball.le
We treat everyone with courtesy, fairness, and respect — on and off the court. Good sportsmanship is expected at all times, regardless of the score.
We encourage players to learn, improve, and challenge themselves in a supportive environment. We encourage new players and help each other grow.
We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and positive space for adults and juniors, with appropriate behaviour and safeguarding at all times.
Pickleball should be enjoyable, social, and positive. While we encourage improvement and healthy competition, fun is always at the heart of what we do.

Regular Matchplay Sessions
We run multiple weekday and weekend sessions catering to players of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced. It’s a great chance to practice, meet new people, and enjoy the game.

Coaching & Skill Development
Under our guidance, you can improve your technique, strategy, and overall game. Whether you’re new to the sport or aiming to compete, we can help you develop your skills.

Social Event & Leagues
Pickleball is as much about having fun as it is about competition. We will be hosting social matches, leagues, and tournaments to ensure there’s always something for everyone.
Meet the team
We’re lucky to have a passionate group of individuals leading the charge at our pickleball sessions. Each of our team leaders brings their unique perspective and expertise to the table, helping to create a welcoming and exciting environment for all players. Let’s meet them and learn about their experience with pickleball!

Kirsty
Kirsty’s journey shows how passion can lead to success in a new sport. A former top junior badminton player in England, she discovered pickleball while coaching badminton and recognised it as a great option for those wanting to try something new or avoid the overhead demands of badminton.
Kirsty went on to earn her Pickleball England Level 1 qualification, adding to her strong badminton coaching background. Now running weekly sessions in Dorset alongside her badminton, she’s helping grow the local pickleball community and inspiring others to get involved.
Kirsty’s thoughts on the sport:
“Seeing the enthusiasm our regular players each week and watching the club grow is incredibly rewarding. Pickleball is so accessible to all ages, and I’m excited to help the new players discover just how much fun it can be!”

Graham
Graham is a true all-round sports enthusiast with a passion for tennis, badminton, and football. After discovering pickleball, he quickly developed his skills and has since achieved both his Pickleball Leaders Award and Level 1 Coaching Qualification.
He enjoys sharing his knowledge with club players and is a strong advocate for making the sport accessible to all, encouraging new players to give it a try. Graham leads our coaching sessions with a focus on helping players improve, build confidence, and enjoy their progress in a supportive environment.
Graham’s take on the sport:
“Pickleball is such a great sport because it’s easy to pick up, but offers so much room to grow. One of the best parts of coaching is seeing players develop their skills, gain confidence, and genuinely enjoy the process along the way.”

Andy
Andy is a familiar & welcoming presence at pickleball sessions, always ready to lend a hand wherever it’s needed. He plays an important role in keeping things running smoothly – organising games, helping with equipment & making sure everyone feels included. His kind nature & willingness to step in make the sessions feel more relaxed & enjoyable for players of all levels.
What really sets Andy apart is how he connects with people, especially those who are new to the group. He takes the time to introduce newcomers, explain how things work, easing them into the flow of play. Thanks to his friendly approach & reliability, Andy helps create a positive, welcoming environment that keeps players coming back.
Andy’s take on pickleball:
“What drew me to pickleball was the social aspect & how quickly it creates a sense of community. The sport is so inclusive – whether you’re playing for fun or working on your competitive game, there’s something for everyone.”

Harvey
Harvey plays a key role in making our Sunday Family Fun Rackets sessions such a welcoming and enjoyable experience. With a strong background in both tennis and badminton, he took to pickleball quickly and brings a natural understanding of racket sports to the court. His ability to organise sessions smoothly while keeping things relaxed and fun helps create an environment where players of all ages and abilities feel comfortable getting involved.
Harvey is patient and encouraging, especially with newer players. He has a great way for putting people at ease, offering simple, clear guidance, and building confidence from the very first rally.
Harvey shares:
“I love seeing families out on court together – when everyone’s smiling, learning, and just enjoying the game, that’s what it’s all about.”

DUPR Coach Certified Ratings
We are proud to be DUPR Coach certified, allowing both Kirsty and Graham to officially rate players using the DUPR system.
Through our certification, we can generate provisional DUPR ratings for new players either on-site or remotely, instantly connecting them to the DUPR app and global rating system.
We will be hosting regular rating sessions where players can attend, compete, and receive an official DUPR rating. These sessions are designed to give you an accurate starting point & help track your progress over time.
In addition to ratings, we use DUPR Coach tools to assess player performance, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and provide personalised guidance to help you reach your goals on the court.
